PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — New information on a story involving a Palm Beach County homeowner who says she captured someone stealing a package from her front porch using a doorbell camera.

Mildred Walter says her home security camera captured a woman taking a package from her doorstep approximately 25-minutes after it was delivered by an employee of the U.S. Postal Service.

WPTV caught up with the woman in the surveillance video who claims it's a misunderstanding.

She says the package belongs to her and admits she went to her neighbor's property without permission to take it. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is looking into it.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson within the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office says if the woman did take her own package they likely won't prosecute if there wasn't criminal intent. The postal service asks people who receive mail in error to return it to the post office for correct delivery.
