Catholics who want to eat corned beef on St. Patrick's Day can do so without a guilty conscience if they live in the Diocese of Palm Beach.

Fridays during Lent, Catholics 14 and up are required to abstain from meat.

But, Bishop Gerald Barbarito granted a general dispensation from the obligation on Friday, March 17th.

The dispensation covers Catholics in Palm Beach, Martin, Indian River, St. Lucie and Okeechobee Counties.
