A masked person carjacked a woman in Lake Worth Tuesday night, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was trying to get into her red Pontiac G5 at 19 South K Street when she was confronted around 10 p.m.

That woman was actress at the Lake Worth Playhouse. She is doing okay, but after the violent crime people who live and work in the Lake Worth neighborhood are worried.

Director Jodie Dixon-Mears says what happened to one of her cast members took away the fun from the Lake Worth Playhouse.

"It's just frightening as a woman," says Dixon-Mears

Kendall Jackson says shes was rehearsing when she heard a scream.

"Saw a girl sitting on the floor sobbing, like screaming," says Jackson.

Unfortunately, neighbors say violent crime is getting all too common.

"This situation definitely opened my eyes. You really have to be aware of your surroundings," says Jackson.

Meanwhile Jodie isn't taking any chances.

"It's the buddy system from now on and I can't have even three girls walking along to their car or group. I want everybody in their cars at the same time," says Dixon-Mears.

Anyone with information is urged to call Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 1.800.458.TIPS.
