Woman fatally struck by Virgin Trains USA train in Lake Worth Beach

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. -- One person died Saturday afternoon in Lake Worth Beach after they were struck by a Virgin Trains USA (formerly known as Brightline) train.

According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, crews responded to reports of a person possibly struck by a train near the 1300 block of South Dixie Highway and 12th Avenue South at 3:19 p.m.

The investigation revealed that the train was traveling northbound on the FEC train tracks.

According to the conductor, two females attempted to cross the tracks. He sounded the train horn numerous times, however one of the females attempted to beat the train and was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as 31-year-old Princess Davis.
