A center that helps the Hispanic community in Palm Beach County is taking steps to make sure families are informed of the Zika virus.
Counselors from the Guatemalan-Mayan center went door-to-door in Lake Worth on Monday handing out Zika prevention flyers.

They also urged residents to get rid of standing water and put bleach in puddles outside their homes to kill mosquitos.
The Guatemalan-Maya Center helps dozens of pregnant women a month and they say many are worried about Zika.
“We tend to focus on working with mothers, and so when they've heard [the] news [that Zika] is dangerous for women with children, who are going to give birth, they created a little bit of a panic,” said Tim Gamwell, the assistant executive director of the Guatemalan-Maya Center.
The center hopes to reach about 500 families in this area to educate them about Zika.
