Estimated $40 million needed to repair Lake Worth potholes

Potholes continue to be a problem in Lake Worth, prompting city leaders to release a map Thursday showing of every road they want to fix.

The repairs are contingent on voters approving a $40 million bond in November.  Some homeowners are not eager to pay higher taxes for the repairs.

"The bond issue is nothing but a loan basically, and we're going to end up paying that back. Each and every one of us is going to be stuck paying back more money to the city of Lake Worth to invest in fixing these potholes and that's their solution," said Lake Worth resident David Richert.

City leaders plan to put a data calculator on its website so residents can determine how much they will pay in taxes.
