Keeping the elections clean: how state is fighting fraud at the polls

Poll workers in Palm Beach County or making sure every vote comes from a legitimate voter. The goal is to eliminate fraud from the elections.

When you go to your precinct to vote, you'll have to present an ID with a picture and sign a form.

Staff and the supervisor of elections office will then review your signature to make sure it matches the one it has on file.

Votes are collected using a paper system. The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher says that makes it most secure.

There are several protocols in place to keep your information out of the hands of hackers.

Bucher said hackers have tried to steal information about voters from Palm Beach County in the past, but have never penetrated the system.

She said the Secretary of State also has levels of security to keep your information like address, Social Security number, drivers license number safe.
