GREENACRES, Fla. -- A Greenacres man is under arrest after refusing to speak with deputies for hours on Sunday.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office responded to the 4500 block of Oak Terrace Dr. in Greenacres at 11 a.m. and attempted to talk to a suspect wanted for a domestic incident that occurred overnight between him and his girlfriend.
John Desir, 38, was seen inside the residence, but refused to speak with deputies.
PBSO says after exhausting all efforts of getting the man to surrender, PBSO SWAT was called to the scene.
An arrest warrant was signed by a judge and the surrounding apartments were evacuated.
At 5:45 p.m., SWAT entered the residence and located Desir without incident.
He was taken into custody and charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault and simple battery. Additional charges may be added.
