GREENACRES, Fla. — The Palm Beach County Sheriff's said a pedestrian was killed Thursday night on Jog Road in Greenacres.
According to the report, the victim was walking eastbound across the northbound lanes of Jog Road near the intersection of Forest Hill Boulevard at 9:08 p.m.
PBSO said the pedestrian crossed into the path of a 2013 Toyota Scion. The front of car struck the right side of pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
PBSO said the vehicle fled the scene northbound on Jog Road. The report says the vehicle was later located near the scene of the wreck.
The driver was not hurt in the collision.
Investigators have not released the name of the victim. Charges are pending in the case.
