It's one of the busiest days of the year for retail stores and, Friday one local animal shelter got in on the Black Friday madness.

For Tom Ferazzoli it was love at first sight.

"Our eyes connected and I knew he was for me," Ferazzoli said.

So, Tom braved the crowds to get the best deals for his best man. His adopted dog Toby.

"I got a bowl for 75 cents," he said. "Just a sweet sweet little dog."

So, how did this love story begin?

"Any kitty or dog we can get out of here, the better," Rebekah Kennon said.

Kennon is the adoption manager at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue in West Palm Beach and you could call it a Black Friday blowout.

"We've had a busy day already," Kennon said. "People were in line at about 9:30 and we opened at 10."

That's because the shelter is offering free adoptions for cats and dogs.

"We are even going to give them a starter bag of food so they don't need that either," Kennon said.

Kennon said they are hoping to clear the kennels so they can rescue more pets this holiday season.

"Please come out and get your new best friend," she said.

The free adoption deal will last throughout the weekend.
