PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Storefront crashes are putting Florida on the map -- and not in a good way.

Every month the Storefront Safety Council says they add 250 to 300 wrecks to their database each month.

According to the council, these crashes occur more often in Florida than nearly everywhere else.

One such incident happened in early December at a BP gas station located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Yamato Road in Boca Raton when a car wash attendant crashed a car into another vehicle.

That car then drove straight into the storefront hitting one man and sending him to the hospital.

Stats compiled by the Storefront Safety Council show Florida makes up 10 percent of all drivers in the country and 17 percent of storefront crashes.

The Storefront Safety Council was launched in 2011 in an effort to reduce the number of vehicle-into-building wrecks.
