PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — The Red Cross is assisting several families Wednesday morning after an overnight fire near Greenacres forced them from their homes.
Fire crews battled flames at an apartment complex along Forest Hill Boulevard just west of Sherwood Forest Boulevard.
One witness said loud noises woke up him and his daughter. He said there is a lot of smoke and water damage, and his neighbors lost everything.
"Luckily our stuff's OK, and I'm grateful, and nobody got hurt, which is the main thing," said resident Joseph Micco.
Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
