Ask these questions before summer camp signup

As the school year comes to a close, now is the time for you to register your child for summer camp.

There are many classes to choose from, but make sure to ask a few questions before you enroll your children.

Here’s a check list of items to ask before you sign up:

  • Make sure summer camp is licensed and accredited
  • Who at the camp is CPR trained?
  • Do workers have to undergo background checks?
  • How fast will the workers progress your child?
  • Will the camp be driving your child anywhere?
  • What’s the ratio of counselors to campers?

Remember to register early because some camps fill up early.  Also, some give discounts for enrolling multiple children. Also, be on the lookout for deals from Groupon.

Local colleges and community centers usually have lower cost options

Parents should always consider the total cost of the camp.  Sometimes t-shirts, transportation and daily lunches can increase costs.
