U.S. politics from a German perspective

Ever wonder what foreigners think of the political system in the U.S.?

That topic was part of a discussion between German and American lawmakers Friday at Lynn University.

Specifically, Germans say differences in political parties and campaign financing would prevent a candidate like Donald Trump from gaining so much support.

They're keeping a close eye on how our election season goes.

“I think Germany has a clear, deep interest in in a stable and cooperating United States. I have my doubts, clear deep doubts Donald Trump is very experienced with foreign and security policy,” said Peer Steinbrück who is a member of the German Bundestag.

Friday morning's discussions also touched on uniting world leaders to solve Syria's migration crisis.
