PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — There were two separate vehicle accidents, one being fatal, in the area of US Highway 27 and Mutt Thomas Road near the Hendry County line on Wednesday morning.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) responded to the area of Mutt Thomas Road and US 27 at around 5:50 a.m. for a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The passenger vehicle rolled over and the truck's engine compartment caught on fire.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, their identity is unknown at this time.
PBCFR units then responded at 10:15 a.m. to US27 between Mutt Thomas Road and Corkscrew Road for another crash involving a semi-truck rolling over towards the canal bank. No injuries were reported.
There have been delays in that area of US27 all morning and will continue until both scenes have been investigated and cleared.
