The Toronto Zoo just welcomed a baby rhino! The mother, Asha, is an eleven year old Indian Rhino. She gave birth to the fourth Indian Rhino born at the Toronto Zoo, and the first one in sixteen years.

Indian Rhinos are considered to be "vulnerable" on the list of endangered species. Globally, their estimated population is 2,000 rhinos. Just a few days old, the calf is already larger than most dogs.

The first 30 days are critical for the Zoo staff to monitor to ensure healthy development.
