New animated film “The Little Prince,” which was scheduled to open in U.S. theaters in March, will now go straight to Netflix instead.

It was a quiet move for the Paramount Pictures film – based on the 1943 book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery -- which the streaming service reportedly bought the domestic rights to. Watch the movie trailer below.

It was slated for release in theaters March 18, but is now expected to premiere on Netflix later this year.
The film was directed by Mark Osborne, who received an Oscar nod for his work in “Kung Fu Panda.”

“The Little Prince,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last May, has grossed $100 million internationally. Last month, it received France’s Cesar Award for best animated film.

It’s star-studded voice cast that includes Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Marion Cotillard, James Franco and Benicio del Toro.

An exact Netflix release date wasn’t immediately available. It was released in France last summer.
