A bank robber dubbed the "Sock Hat Bandit" was captured Thursday after his latest hold-up attempt.
Bryan Parnell was wanted in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky for allegedly robbing at least 10 banks in those states. WCPO television station in Cincinnati reports he was arrested after crashing his car while fleeing from Fifth Third Bank in Independence, Kentucky.
Parnell, of Dayton, Ohio, has admitted to robbing nine of those banks, according to the FBI. The suspect was becoming a familiar face to locals after police released bank security images of him wearing sock hats at each of the robberies that were distributed by media outlets.
At the time of Parnell's arrest he was wearing a ball cap with an Ohio State University logo on it.
