So-called 'hot convict' Jeremy Meeks might become a model

Posted
The so-called “hot convict” who stole the Internet’s heart in 2014 after his dreamy mugshot went viral heard his “fans” loud and clear: He’s becoming a model.

It was a topic of controversy for most, as Jeremy Meeks – who earned such nicknames as "hot convict" and "Mugshot McDreamy" – was arrested for felony weapons charges.

Many questioned why Meeks, 30 at the time, deserved the attention in the first place.

But it appears there was legitimacy to all the hype. Meeks has reportedly been released from prison, and he’s still the subject of major swooning.

In a post that appeared on Instagram pages belonging to both Meeks and a modeling agency Wednesday, Meeks said he's "overwhelmed and grateful for what lies ahead."

"I want to thank my family and everybody for all your love, support and prayers," he wrote.

Meeks’ mugshot went viral in June, garnering tens of thousands of likes after he was booked on five weapons charges and one gang charge.

"Wow. That is one good looking mug shot!" one person wrote on a Stockton Police Department’s post showing his picture.

"Momma, I'm in love with a criminal," another joked.
