According to the Oregonian, Chipotle has shuttered its Oregon and Washington locations after 22 people were sickened by E. coli earlier in the month of October.
The report says that the illnesses were from six different locations in the two states. The outbreak was enough to hospitalize eight people. Health officials said it is likely that there are more unreported cases as not every person sickened E. coli seek treatment.
Health officials requested people who had vomiting or bouts of diarrhea from Oct. 13 to 23 and visited a Chipotle in the two states to report it to health officials.
Chipotle locations outside of Oregon and Washington will remain open.
