AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — A pregnant mother is facing disorderly conduct charges in Georgia for allowing her 3-year-old son to relieve himself in public.

Brooke Johns' toddler son alerted his mother he needed to use the restroom Wednesday. The two barely made it to a gas station before she realized he wasn't going to make it inside.

Brooke was unable to carry the boy due to being just weeks from giving birth. She says she did what she thought was the next best thing, covering him as he urinated in the parking lot.

WRDW-TV reports a Richmond County deputy saw what happened and cited Johns. The citation sparked a lot of backlash on social media from parents.

The Beech Island, South Carolina, woman has an April 30 court date, days before she is due.
