Reports of an active-shooter made for tense moments last week at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico.
Authorities initiated a precautionary lockdown after someone said they thought they heard gunshots near a building on the base.
Humvees and men in tactical were on the scene.
Officials lifted the lockdown a short time later, saying security personnel found no threat.
On Thursday, it was reported that the scare was sparked by the popping of heavy-duty bubble wrap.
Officials say reporting the loud bangs was the right thing to do.
