Soon, a business trip won't mean watching “Breaking Bad” season 5, episode 14 on a little laptop screen.
Netflix and Marriott International announced Wednesday a partnership between the big red streaming service and the Marriott hotel chain.
“Our members tell us they want to watch Netflix anytime, in any place where they have an Internet connection,” said Bill Holmes, global head of business development at Netflix, in a statement.
Guests will be able to log on to their Netflix accounts (or sign up) straight from their room’s TV set through a built-in application. Marriott Vice President Matthew Carroll said his company is responding to changing consumer preferences.
“Because consumers are choosing to take their streaming content with them when they travel, Marriott Hotels is making the industry’s first rollout of Netflix a priority,” he said.
The hotel chain will offer Netflix at 100 U.S. properties by the end of the year and 300 by the end of 2016.
