A Super Mario super fan in Arkansas proposed to his girlfriend using a custom-built Nintendo game that allows users to create their own levels. Shane Birkinbine posted the video of his proposal to Facebook last weekend.

In the video, his girlfriend, Pam Edwards, is just casually playing the old-school Super Mario game re-make when she notices her name made out of the obstacle blocks.

Here’s the video so you can watch it for yourself:

“Babe, what does that say?” Birkinbine asks as his soon-to-be fiancé crushes a few more bricks and grabs a golden coin.

“How did you do that?” Edwards asks. “Master gamer,” the future groom confidently answers.

As Edwards continues to move Mario across the screen it becomes more apparent what’s happening. It’s at this point that Pam breaks out in joyful laughter, in disbelief that Shane is really popping the question… through a video game.

“Will you marry me?” the bricks say. “Yes, of course,” Edwards says through smiles and a few tears.

“She said yes!!!” Birkinbine said in another post. “I’m so blessed to have met Pam who has the kindest heart for people. She's been so patient and shown me what love truly is. Sometimes we meet that person later in life.”

The post received dozens of comments from happy friends and family. “Love this! Gave me goose bumps watching it...very creative! Happy for you both, congratulations!” Christy Carter said.

“Thank you all for the kind words! We are so overwhelmed by the reaction this video has gotten. We are so excited to start our future together,” Pam Edwards said in a comment.
