The Longaberger Co. is emptying its biggest basket.
According to a report in the Columbus Dispatch , the Ohio-based basket company will abandon its iconic headquarters in "the coming weeks" for a more traditional office setting. Since 1997, Longaberger's headquarters has been located inside a 180,000-square-foot building shaped like one of the company's baskets.
The report indicates employees in the basket-shaped building will be moved to Longaberger's manufacturing facility located about 20 miles away, to unite the entire company under one roof.
According to Hoover's , Longaberger is the top manufacturer of handmade baskets in America.
It's unclear what will happen to the basket-shaped building. The Columbus Dispatch reports Longaberger is behind on its taxes and that the government could foreclose on the iconic structure soon.
