Live: Day 1 of Facebook F8 developer conference

It's a big week for Facebook, as their F8 developer conference starts today in San Francisco.

The conference will continue Thursday . At 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET on both days, the company will hold a keynote session. General Facebook updates from CEO Mark Zuckerberg are expected on day one.

News came out yesterday that Facebook has been in talks for months with at least six media organizations about hosting content inside their platform.

The New York Times, Buzzfeed and National Geographic have been named as likely early adopters.

And on the heels of announcing a new feature that lets users send money over Facebook Messenger, there’s speculation that Facebook will turn its chat app into a platform for third-party apps, according to Quartz.

Day two is expected to address Facebook's acquisition Oculus Rift.
