WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The skin aesthetics and med spa industry is typically one that’s handled in close proximity. JoAnn Francis Medical Esthetics Spa in West Palm Beach is working around the concerns of coronavirus to reach a broader audience.

JoAnn and James Francis say they’ve turned to Instagram Live videos and video consultations to reach new customers around the world.

“Everybody’s home, everybody’s on social media at this time. And everybody’s got some skin issue to some degree. And we just offered free consultations to talk to them a little bit and try to guide them one way or another,” James said.

They feel they’ve been successful in pushing forward, even during the weeks they had been closed. Now open again, they are continuing their efforts to meet with patients online worldwide and send them Zo skincare products by mail.

“If you’re down and out, and you’re closed, find ways that you can still reach out and help people. You give, you receive. And that’s exactly what we did, the Instagram Lives, and how can we help somebody while they’re home,” JoAnn said.

Their number one suggestion for everybody’s skin right now is to wear sunscreen.

“ Sunscreen, sunscreen, suncreen. Even if you’re wearing a mask. We know that the UV rays do get through things as well, but you still want to protect, make sure that you’re not only getting aging but skin cancer as well,” JoAnn said.
