Planning a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida soon? You might want to double check your budget. The world-renowned theme park and resort recently raised prices across its parks, from parking rates to park admission and even food.
As everyone already knows, a trip to visit Mickey Mouse and friends is already quite the investment. These changes to the pricing structure are incremental, but they add up to a family shelling out even more on their vacation to Disney World.
Here’s the breakdown of the Disney World cost changes that have gone into effect:
Parking At Disney World
As of Oct. 16, Disney increased the parking fees at all of its Florida theme parks to $25 a day. This is a $3 increase from the previous $22 per day. The one-time per day fee applies whether you’re parking at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Those looking for preferred parking, closer to the front entrance gates of the parks, should be prepared to pay $50 per day — up from the previous fee of $45.

Walt Disney World overhauled its ticket pricing as of Oct. 16 as well. This isn’t a price increase per se but a new date-specific pricing system: To purchase tickets to any of the theme parks, visitors will now need to know not only how many days they plan to visit, but also when they plan to use them. Ticket prices will vary by date, meaning the more crowded the days are projected to be, the higher the price.
For example, if you’re looking to travel to Disney World over the holidays, a one-day ticket to any of the theme parks will cost you $129 per person. However, in non-peak times (such as September), that ticket price dips down to $109.
The My Disney Experience website allows guests to plug in their information and find the best deals with just a few clicks of the mouse (pardon the pun).
Food Prices At Disney World
Eating at Walt Disney World has also become more expensive recently. Disney Food Blog noted some of the price increases, including:
- Bottled water: Increased from $3 to $3.50
- Soft drinks: A regular-sized drink increased from $3.29 to $3.99
- Soft pretzels (including the special Mickey-shaped variety): Increased from $6 to $7
- Giant turkey legs: Increased from$11.75 to $13.25
However, here’s some good news for all of the planners out there: The official Walt Disney World website lists most of the dining options in the parks. So, you can review the prices and set a budget before you head off to the magic.
