Today is World Health Day, and this year, the focus is food safety. More than 200 diseases are spread through food, according to experts.

To keep food healthy, here are some tips from World Health Organization:

° Keep clean. Wash hands before handling food, during preparation, and after using the restroom. Sanitize the surfaces where it is prepared.
° Separate raw meat, poultry and seafood from other cooked foods. Use separate equipment on them as well.
° Cook food thoroughly. Soups and stews should reach 148 degrees. When reheating food, make sure it is hot enough, too.
° Cooked food should not sit at room-temperature for more than two hours. When storing it, make sure it's below 41 degrees. Don't let it sit in the fridge too long, and don't let frozen foods thaw out at room temperature.
° Make sure water is safe. Wash produce to make sure it is clean.
