An estimated 1,100 piglets were killed when a semi-tractor trailer overturned on an Ohio highway.
There were 2,200 piglets inside the truck at the time of the crash. Those that died were crushed or suffocated, according to WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio.
The TV station reports the truck was traveling on Ohio 35 in Xenia. Area farmers brought trucks to the scene to help roundup the loose animals.
It is likely all of the piglets will not be found, said witnesses at the scene.
Police said the driver of the semi went too fast around a curve, causing the truck to roll. He will be cited for failure to control.
