With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it’s fitting that we press the delete button on things we aren’t necessarily “thankful” for.
That includes Facebook “friends” you’re looking to weed out. Thanks to late night talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel, there’s a day for that – and there has been since he came up with the idea back in 2010.
Kimmel dubbed National Unfriend Day as a day where people could, in good-conscience, remove toxic people from their friends list; those people could be friends who overshare, rant about politics, spoil TV shows’ endings, and – in general – clog others’ news feeds with their nonsense.
His recommendation? On Tuesday, shrink your friends list by 10 percent.
In honor of the annual day, the show took to Chicago’s streets to ask masked Facebook users about their “Worst Facebook Friends.” View the clip below.
