Two foreign tourists visiting Yellowstone National Park were issued a ticket recently after putting a wild baby bison in their vehicle because they thought it was cold.
The father and son pulled up to a ranger station with the bison calf in their SUV.
Law enforcement rangers arrived and found the bison in the back seat of the tourists’ vehicle.
A witness said the tourists, whose nationality was not reported, actually were “worried that the calf was freezing and dying.”
East Idaho News.com reported that the rangers followed the pair back to where they had picked up the bison, and the animal was released.
It's unclear how much they were fined.
