(NBC NEWSCHANNEL, APTN) Video of an encounter between a woodpecker and a police officer is going viral online.

Cellphone video uploaded online last month shows a woodpecker sitting on a Polish police officer's shoulder and pecking at his shoulder and neck.

The officer in the Polish city of Lodz laughs as the hungry bird confuses him for a tree during the incident.

The video has been viewed more than two million times in three weeks.

The woodpecker, named Waclaw, was first found in June as a nestling lying on the ground after falling out of its nest.

It was then taken to the wildlife rehabilitation center in Lodz, where the staff cared for it.

The bird spent around three weeks in the center before it was released to the wild.

Surprisingly, it flew back to the center a few times to get food.
