Wildlife expert and 'Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom' host Jim Fowler dies

Wildlife expert and frequent "Today" show and "Tonight Show" guest Jim Fowler has died.

Fowler was most famous as the Emmy-winning host of "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom."

On the show, Fowler would bring the natural world into people's homes. He would mix entertainment with adventure that educated and raised awareness of endangered species.

That show remained on the air for two decades.

Fowler had a heart ailment when he died on May 8 at his home in Connecticut. He was 89-years-old.
