What happens when hundreds of sheep escape their pen?

Video on the Colorado Department of Transportation's Facebook page shows quite a baaaaad traffic jam as the "ram"bunctious sheep crossed Highway 257 near Windsor.

We can't take credit for the puns, those came from CDOT's Facebook page:

If ewe were stuck in traffic on SH257 north of Windsor this morning, this is why. About 500 sheep were on the lamb after escaping their pens. It took about 15 minutes to gather up the "ram"bunctious critters. Fleece Navidad!

The comments posted on CDOT's Facebook page are pretty funny, too.

"Mutton have know [sic] they were heading to Wyoming," wrote Albert Gallo on Facebook.

"Just a little sheepish there with the description," wrote WL P Christiansen.

"Who let the sheep out? Ba ba ba ba /facepalm," wrote Patricia Cowley Brown.
