PHILADELPHIA — Residents in a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania neighborhood are keeping their bug spray handy after a cockroach infestation on their street.
Neighbors say cockroaches started crawling out of a manhole cover Sunday night.
Witnesses say there were thousands of them - so many that it was hard to see the street. "When I tell you thousands of them, there were thousands of them," resident Pat Wall said.
Evidence of the infestation remains all over the street as residents continue to spray every roach they see.
"Everybody is out here with spray cans spraying bugs. They were stomping them and they were running right out of there," resident Paul Basfort said.
"All the neighbors down this end were out here spraying and stomping, it was a horror story that I couldn't believe I was living,"
The water department plans to check out the street and clean the manhole.
