Girl orphaned by fire has wish: Christmas cards

Posted

Safyre Terry lost her father and 3 siblings in a house fire two years ago. She now lives with her aunt, Liz Dodler, who bought a tree to hang holiday cards on and Safyre said she couldn't wait to fill it up.

The 5-year-old's journey is charted on a Facebook page.

The fire was caused by arson and the then 3-year-old was found in the debris next to her father, who used his body to shield her from the flames. Safyre suffered severe burns and lost her right hand and left foot.

Cards can be sent to Safyre at P.O. Box 6126 | Schenectady NY 12306

I wonder how many of my friends would take the time to write and send Safyre a Merry Christmas card that she can hang on her card tree....Safyre P.O. Box 6126Schenectady NY 12306
