(WHAM/CNN) - A road in upstate New York could be closed for days after a dump truck operator neglected to lower the vehicle's bucket before driving.
The bucket is the part of a dump truck that moves up and down to deposit whatever it is hauling.
A contractor left it up while driving on a public road near Rochester.
County deputies said this caused the bucket to get snagged on utility lines. The force of the impact took down 15 utility poles and dozens of power lines.
The truck was trapped under the wires for hours.
Deputies say no one was injured, but Rochester Gas & Electric said more than 1,200 customers lost power.
