Jessee Diaz was working at a Goodwill in Southern California when he came across a box with some sort of fryer inside.
When he opened it, he found 5 envelopes of cash with almost $50 thousand inside.
He returned every penny.
"I couldn't believe it for like a split second, I was like, this is a lot of money, is it even real? You know, are these bills even real? Diaz wondered.
The cash, $46,000, belonged to a 79-year-old woman whose husband had just died.
Her daughter-in-law took boxes to Goodwill to clear out clutter and didn't know the cash was inside.
"There's a lot of people who depend on us, and it's just the right thing to do, I didn't think twice," Diaz said.
The saved money was going to be used for a trip to Japan but, over time, the husband and wife saved more than what was needed for the journey.
