RIO LINDA, Calif. — Sacramento firefighters made a daring rescue of a high-flying Santa Claus Sunday morning.

Metro Fire Sacramento released video of the incident, which happened around 11 a.m., after a man dressed as Santa took off in a hyper light glider near a school in Rio Linda.

The FAA said the powered parachute lost power on takeoff near the school. It then hit and became suspended in power lines.

Power was shut off to about 200 customers in the area to allow firefighters to bring Santa Claus down to safety.

Fire officials say the man was trying to do something nice for kids in the community.

Thankfully, this wasn't the real Santa and no one was hurt in the incident.
