PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — The National Weather Service Melbourne office will hold a press conference Monday morning at at Jessica Clinton Park to provide an official update on the possible tornado event that struck St. Lucie County on Sunday evening.

Sunday's storm hit the neighborhood near Southbend Boulevard and SE Navy Avenue around 6 p.m., causing significant property damage. Resident Aaron Christiansen, who witnessed the event unfold, described seeing debris swirling in the air before having just 10 seconds to take cover with his family and pets.

The storm left behind substantial damage including patio furniture blown into pools, destroyed fencing, scattered debris, and damaged vegetation. Christiansen noted that he received the official emergency alert only after the storm had already passed through the area.
