MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. -- The Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) says a fugitive and key member of a violent street gang was arrested Tuesday evening in Martin County where he was working as a painter.

MCSO says 38-year-old Randy Torres, a.k.a. "Rico", is a member of the Rollin' 30s Harlem Crips and has engaged in drug trafficking, robbery, murder, and other acts of violence.

Torres was living in Port St. Lucie. He was arrested at a painting job in Martin County.

Torres was being sought for racketeering and narcotics charges as a result of his membership in the violent street gang.

Torres was one of several gang members that were indicted on charges following the murder of an innocent bystander who was shot and killed in 2015 in a botched attempt to kill a rival gang member.

Eleven other gang members were also arrested. Torres was the only one who remained at large until yesterday.
