MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. -- A Palm Beach Atlantic University professor and his students made a grim discovery while on a field trip in late January.
Thomas Chese and his students were collecting water samples for their biology class when they discovered a man's body on the bank of the Okeechobee waterway in Port Mayaca.
The student who made the discovery says he prayed over the body.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office identified the man as 25-year old Sean Francis Budge of Port St. Lucie. The sheriff's office said the medical examiner determined the death was a homicide.
The investigation is ongoing.
