ORIGINAL STORY:

The Martin County Sheriff's Office says it is treating the discovery of a female's body Friday morning as a homicide.

It was found by a landscaping crew on Bridge Rd east of I-95.

The Martin County Sheriff said the body, which had a tattoo, was in a moderate stage of decomposition and he believes it was in the area more than two or three days.

Sheriff William Snyder said there were signs of trauma on the body but the medical examiner would have to determine how that trauma occurred.

The remains do not match two missing persons descriptions currently in the county, Sheriff Snyder said.

In October the body of 21-year-old Ciara Lashay Taylor was found by a worker on Bridge Road near Kanner Highway. The sheriff's office said that case is not related to Friday's discovery.
