Rising prescription prices hitting Americans hard - are you affected?

Posted

The price of prescription drugs is on the rise. Just over the last three years, Americans had to pay around 30 percent more for their prescription drugs, according to data from the Wall Street Journal.

That means the average American spends around $860 per year on prescription drugs. Compare that to $400 people in other industrialized countries have to shell out.

The trend does not end there. Next year, specialty drugs are slated to rise 18.7 percent.

Many pharmaceutical companies say people can save big if they know how to get the discounted price.

How do you find those coupons, discounts and rebates that could save you and your family hundreds or even thousands of dollars?
