If you had contact with a teen from Larimer County who died from the plague, health officials want to see you.
Poudre High School student Taylor Gaes died from septicemic plague on June 8.
Investigators believe Gaes may have contracted the disease from fleas on a dead animal on family land.
Officials say the family is reaching out to people who visited the home before the cause of death was known.
There is a small chance that others could have been bitten by infected fleas.
Experts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control have now joined the investigation.
The CDC says an average of seven human plague cases are reported each year nationwide.
This is the first deadly case in Larimer County since 1999.
