(NBC NEWSCHANNEL) Gerber is recalling an unspecified number of its Organic 2nd Foods pouches due to a packaging defect that could result in spoilage of the food inside.
The recall involves two products, Gerber Organic 2nd Foods pouches with pears, carrots and peas, as well as Gerber Organic 2nd Foods pouches with carrots, apples and mangos.
Both products were sold in 3.5 ounce pouches at stores nationwide and online.
Gerber has received three consumer reports of temporary gastrointestinal symptoms, but the company hasn't been able to confirm that the illnesses are related to the products.
Consumers should not use the recalled products and are encouraged to call the Gerber Parents Resource Center at 1-800-706-0556 for a replacement coupon.
No other Gerber pouches or Gerber Products are involved in the recall.
