TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Officials with the Florida Department of Health say there are 15 new travel related Zika cases today. Three are in Broward, three in Pinellas, one in Collier, one in Hillsborough, one in Orange, one in Sarasota, and five involve pregnant women.
There are no new non-travel related Zika cases today.
Officials say their investigation revealed that one of the individuals individually classified as a locally acquired case in the Wynwood area, had recently traveled outside of the U.S. to an area with widespread, ongoing Zika transmission. This new information reduces the non-travel related case count by one, to 42, and increases the travel-associated case count by one.
