It appears that the "where shopping is a pleasure" line is more than just a slogan. A new survey ranks Publix among the nation's top grocery chains, vaulting it above Trader Joe's.
The Market Force survey of 10,000 consumers found that Rochester, N.Y.-based Wegmans is America's favorite grocery retailer, followed by Publix and Trader Joe's.
According to the authors, this is the first time in four years that Trader Joe's didn't rank in first place.
Shoppers gave Publix high marks for being able to find desired items, cleanliness, item availablity, checkout speed and specialty department service. Trader Joe's ranked first for cashier courtesy.
ALDI was the price leader, followed by WinCo and Costco.
