(NBC NEWSCHANNEL) Seven brands of packaged raw macadamia nuts are being recalled because they could be contaminated with salmonella.
The recall includes Target's exclusive brand Market Pantry, as well as the brands Western Family, Shurfine, Hyvee, Pear's Gourmet, Cash-Wa and in bulk through Nutpro.
The products were sold between July 2, 2015 and February 3, of this year.
Marathon Ventures issued the recall after the contamination was found during a routine product sampling by the FDA.
Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and others with weakened immune systems.
So far, no illnesses have been reported.
Consumers can return the nuts for a full refund or replacement.
Target is not requiring its customers to provide proof of purchase.
